If you set it to some music that is important to the couple you will almost certainly see tears in their eyes. As well as photos you can include videos if you have any. If any members of the family will not be around to go to the anniversary party then you could ask them to provide a video so you can put that on the disc.
Golden wedding anniversary gifts are supposed to be about the happy couple and what they would like not about what you would like. Try and think of them and their home, there is no point in buying them something that will just be put into a draw. Traditional Anniversary Gifts
Whether you are looking for anniversary gifts for your own spouse or for your grandparents Golden wedding anniversary you will probably be searching for the list of what you should buy. Well now there are (at least) two lists of suggested items for anniversaries. I am not sure who decided that the traditional anniversary gifts were no longer suitable, it may well have been the gift companies, but no matter what the list say you can buy any gift that you think is suitable. The other thing I have to say is that the anniversary gift that a spouse gives will likely be very different than the ones that you would give as an outsider.
Traditional anniversary gifts can be a better choice than the modern listing, an example of this is the fourth wedding anniversary. In the traditional list the fourth wedding requires fruit or flowers as a gift, while in the modern list it is often shown as appliances, if I bought my wife a washing machine as a wedding anniversary gift I think there is a good chance it would be the last anniversary we celebrated together.

If you are looking for a gift for your husband or wife then a framed copy of the wedding vows or some personal items (receipt from the first meal you had together) mingle the traditional with the personal. If you are buying for friends or relatives then you could look at books or even money. Giving money can be difficult as some people see it as a easy way out, but personally I would have been quite happy to receive a check from everyone.
Wood Anniversary
Buying something nice in wood that is also affordable can be difficult. The willow tree figurines are a beautiful range of wooden dolls and they do many sets which have couples in various poses. You could also buy nice wooden photo frames, this works best if you know the design taste of the couple you are buying for, you do not want to buy a mahogany picture frame of all there rooms are decorated in post modernist style. There is nothing worse than buying traditional anniversary gifts that will never be used
Silver Wedding Anniversary
If you are buying for your wife then a pair of silver ear rings and a matching bracelet may be a great gift. If you are buying for your parents then you may want to get them something that is engraved, silver photo frames which include family photos would be one of the best traditional anniversary gifts you could give.
Golden Wedding Anniversary
Golden wedding anniversary gifts have to be special. If your husband or wife has managed to deal with your foibles for the last fifty years then you should be ready to get them something special. One thing about buying traditional anniversary gifts for your parents, or grandparents, is that you should know them well enough to get something that they will treasure. Buying your mum a gold locket with a picture of each of them in would be a nice touch. If you are buying for a friend or more distant relative then you are probably best going with something less personal.

Just about any gift will be appreciated but if you can stay within the traditional parameters then you are probably walking on safer ground especially if the couple are older. A couple who have been married 10 years and are in their thirties will probably not be as traditional as a couple celebrating fifty years of being married.

Good Anniversary Gifts
When you start your search for good anniversary gifts it can be a bit mind blowing. The temptation is often to just pick up the usual things form the local hallmark store, the problem with this is that there is a good chance that you wont be the only one giving that gift and while receiving a set of silver spoons may be nice, receiving two or three identical sets is a bit boring. Good anniversary gifts are ones that you have put some thought into, what does the couple enjoy? If they love to cook and eat together then a personalized knife set for the kitchen may be a good idea. Just because someone is celebrating a golden wedding anniversary it doesnt mean that you have to go and buy them the usual stuff.

Give these together with a good bottle of champagne and a note telling them to drink it when everyone has gone home and they are alone. You can also get sets that include cake knifes if you happen to know that they will be having a party with a big cake.
Memory Book
This is one of the good anniversary gifts that can take some time to set up but is worth every moment you spend on it as it will be so well received. Take some time to get photos from as many family members as you can and put them in the book in some kind of order. Start with wedding photos if you can and then pictures of children then grandchildren so the book is chronological. If you can find older photos of the happy couple then it is all the better.
Big Anniversary Gifts
Most couples will celebrate their wedding anniversaries together, they may go out for dinner or to a movie and have an early night and that would be considered good anniversary gifts. Of all the wedding anniversaries the golden wedding anniversary is the hardest to buy presents for in my opinion. When a couple have been married for fifty years it is definitely something worth celebrating but since they will be 70 years old (or very close) the chances are that they do not really want more “things” in their house so you need to think of something different.
The 50th wedding annversary may be called golden but you do not have to buy them gold. One thing about being older is that you appreciate time spent with loved ones and memories of those times far more than you do things. Most of us have enough stuff to last a life time but we have not spent enough time with our family. This is where a memory book, or a memory dvd would really come into its own amongst good anniversary gifts as it shows you took time to think of them and what they enjoy
